Cottons Class Room: Sports Day

on 10th November '2012 we had two major events in the school - The Annual Atheletic meet for Juniors and Seniors.

In the morning it was the 23rd Annual Athletic Meet for Junior school for classes 1 to 5. Former olympian , Arjuna awardee and one of the best hockey players India has ever produced , JUDE FELIX was the chief guest.I was happy to see him because he is one of my favourite palyers along with Dhanraj Pillai.

One athelete from each house(Elphick ,Packenhamwalsh,Pettigrew,Pope and Thomas) got a chance to carry the torch, finally they handed over the torch to the School Sports

Captain Rahil Hassan.

There were displays by the students of various classes.

Then the real action began.We had exciting inter school relay, which every one enjoyed.Cottons emerged victorious in almost all the events.We also congratulate the athletes from other schools.It was not easy to stand infront of thousands of vociferous partial fans rooting for the home team.Well done. Thank you for coming, you did your best.

Personally it was a great first session for my house, Elphick House .We were on a roll.In the end we became the COCK HOUSE in the Junior category.Congratulations to the Junior school Elphick House teachers and students.Well done.We are proud of you.

NO NO..... she is not from Cotton girls ,our own mascot from junior school.

In the afternoon it was time for the big boys to feel the adrenaline rush in the 147th Annual Athletic Meet for the Middle and Senior School. London '2012 olympics bronze medallist Mary Kom was the chief guest.

Pettigrew house was declared as the best marching platoon. Impressive indeed.

Elphick house didnot fare well.We were placed fourth in the points table.In spite of that we had some great fun in our tent thanks to our Mascot Prithvi, the Captain of the school cricket team.

We appreciate your loyalty towards the House.

Packenhamwalsh House the leaders in the track and field events in the past few years faced some really good competition from the Pope House and the Thomas House.Amidst the war cries from different house tents, in the end the baby among the houses THOMAS HOUSE became the new COCK HOUSE in the senior category. Welcome to the big league boys. Truly heroic.
